| Teaching, Seminars & Consulting As a former consultant providing a series of photographic seminars and one-on-one instruction to the commander and astronaut crew of the final shuttle mission to NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, I have tailored my expertise for the general public to provide private seminars, workshops, custom one-on-one instruction and consulting on photographic topics ranging from the aesthetic to the technical. My clients typically come from the legal, financial and medical professions. Instruction is provided in either office or home. For the individual or for a small group, I create custom-tailored, private instruction that provides tangible improvements in how you shoot and create your own photography, and how you view and understand it. Topics include visual response to the world around you, technical refinements in measuring light, image making in different qualities of light, technical use of digital capture or film, shooting approach and style, history and aesthetics of fine art photography and post camera work flow management (down-loading, file creation, editing, post production processing, color monitor calibration, presentation options including choice of printers and papers for black and white and/or color prints). In addition to my coaching, teaching and seminars for the Hubble astronaut crew, I have been an assistant professor of photography in the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology and an adjunct faculty for continuing education at Pratt Institute of Design in New York. I have also made public presentations relating to my work for audiences at diverse venues like the Smithsonian Institute, National Science Foundation, InVision Photography Festival, Next Generation Suborbital Researchers Conference and Maine Desert Island Biological Laboratory.
